Veterinarians

Gerald Hoffman, DVM

Dr. Gerald Hoffman received his D.V.M. in 1971 from the University of Minnesota. He then went on to join the Veterinary Corp in the US Army and served in Korea. Dr. Hoffman ran a small animal hospital serving the military and diplomatic families at the base and was also responsible for the sentry dogs at the South Korean missile sites. He bought Lake Grove Animal Clinic in 1976, changed the name to Lake Grove Veterinary Clinic and has continued the fine name and reputation for almost 35 years.

Dr. Hoffman cycles, skis, and loves getting out on his John Deere tractor in his spare time. He and his wife, Catherine raise Dobermans with their business Winter Ridge Dobermans.  They also have about 200 chickens and sell their eggs under the name "HoffHens" at local grocery stores! Their daughter Erin is a 2007 graduate of the University of Oregon Honors Business College, is a CPA and works for a small tech company called Planar Systems in Hillsboro, OR.  Their son Marshall is a 2006 US Naval Academy graduate and 2010 Uniformed Services University Medical School graduate. He will be specializing in internal medicine after he completes a 3-year program as a flight surgeon for the US Navy, which begins in the summer of 2011.
 

Kelly Creech, DVM

Kelly Creech, DVM, grew up in Annapolis, Maryland with a large family of dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets and ducks. Dr. Creech received her Bachelor's degree in animal behavior from Bucknell University with honors in psychology. After working as a veterinary assistant for a year, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Creech currently resides in Portland with her husband, Torry and their two sons, Nate and Sam. Their family is complete with Tate (border collie mix) and the three cats, Marmot, Joe and Charlie.  The family is excited for this year's camping adventures. Dr. Creech is an avid hiker and enjoys backpacking, and snowboarding.

 

 

 

 

Stephanie Harvey, DVM

Dr. Stephanie Harvey grew up in Marietta, Georgia. She has always loved animals and decided to become a veterinarian at a very young age.

Dr. Harvey graduated from Berry College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Harvey and her husband, Bruce, moved to Portland recently and love living in the Northwest. They share their home with Dexter, a yellow Labrador Retriever, and Annie, a very sweet kitty. When she is not working, Dr. Harvey enjoys exploring Portland, hiking, and riding her horse.


 

James Weikum,DVM


Dr. James Weikum has been practicing veterinary medicine for 16 years in the Portland area. He has a BS in Biomedical Science and graduated from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992.  Dr. Weikum met his wife, Rachel, after moving to Oregon, and they now have a daughter, Lauren. One dog, Wrigley (a very spoiled Golden Retriever), and 4 cats (Liddo, Lizzie, Simba, and Penny) round out the rest of the Weikum family.  In his off-time, Dr. Weikum enjoys gardening and watching his daughter play soccer for Lake Oswego Soccer Club.
